…are carefully built to order, the way a carpenter builds a house. Standard wood framing techniques and materials are used, scaled to shed dimensions. Two 4x4 pressure treated timber skids form the foundation runners. Three 4x4 pressure treated timber skids are under 10’ and 12’ wide barns. Floor joists are standard 2x4’s spaced 16 inches on center, and covered with ¾" tongue and grooved plywood flooring … screwed down to minimize squeaks. 2x4 studs frame the walls and are spaced 16-24" on center (depending on wall height). The rafters are standard 2x4’s, spaced 24 inches on center, and are designed to give maximum headroom over most of the floor area. The roof consists of 7/16" exterior grade OSB sheathing covered with 240# fiberglass shingles. Woodgrain panel residential siding with reverse battens finishes the exterior.

Stairs to loft

The Deluxe Barn differs from the Ornamental Barn in that it features taller walls (7') and a full-width storage loft. See picture below.

Storage loft:

Double, swinging doors are reinforced in a decorative X pattern, opening a full 45½" wide with 5’11" height. Optional 60" or 72" wide doors are available on some buildings. Doors are strengthened by a 2x4 frame and fitted with top quality bolts and latches. Sidings and trims are painted red, white, beige, brown, black, blue, green, taupe, gray, or charcoal. Standard shingle colors include white, black, and three shades of gray & brown. Buildings may be prime painted only or painted custom colors. The wood floor can be deleted and the building built on-site on a concrete pad. Popular options include windows, shelves, ramps, and vents.

The doors can be placed under the gable or on the side at no additional cost. The standard doors are 45" overall width. For wider doors: add $20 for 60" or $30 for 72" widths. For 6" overhangs add $5.60 per perimeter foot.
